Academic and Leadership Excellence

My academic journey has been enriched through a variety of esteemed roles that I have undertaken over the years, blending teaching, administration, and mentorship to foster educational excellence. Graduating with a Master of Accounting from Creighton University, USA, along with an MBA and BBA with a major in accounting, equipped me with a strong foundation in pragmatic and theoretical aspects of accounting, management, finance, and marketing. These educational experiences have empowered me to apply my knowledge in both teaching and managerial capacities.

I possess expertise in programming languages such as Python, SQL, and R, which I have integrated into my teaching and professional practices. Additionally, I have proficiently used and taught enterprise resource planning (ERP) and operational software, including QuickBooks, SAP, ACCPAC, and Tally. These skills have greatly enhanced my ability to provide students with practical knowledge aligned with modern industry requirements.

During my tenure as a Business Analyst and later as a Graduate Assistant at Creighton University, I supported professors in their research, assisted with grading, and proctored examinations. These roles sharpened my analytical and organizational skills and further developed my research acumen, which I leveraged in my subsequent teaching career.

I advanced to academia as an Assistant Professor and later as an Associate Professor of Accounting. These positions allowed me to share my passion for accounting and finance with students while guiding them in both theoretical knowledge and practical applications. My teaching extended to a variety of courses, where I incorporated real-world scenarios and technology-driven learning to ensure a comprehensive educational experience.

In addition to my teaching duties, I undertook significant administrative responsibilities. At one university, I served as the convener of the examination committee, a role that involved preparing exam schedules in collaboration with other committee members. This position demanded strong teamwork, critical thinking, and conflict-resolution skills as I coordinated invigilation duties, distributed duty rosters, and managed feedback from peers and students alike. Ensuring the timely preparation of question papers, the organization of exam materials, and the efficient publication of results required meticulous attention to detail and strong leadership qualities.

My experience as a coordinator of the MBA program at Northern University Bangladesh further expanded my administrative expertise. In this role, I was responsible for preparing the academic calendar and managing the registration process for students, including preregistration and late registration. I also supported academic staff in creating and distributing the registration information booklet, set examination schedules, oversaw examinations, and designed class routines. Additionally, I identified and recruited adjunct and part-time faculty members to support program needs, ensuring the smooth functioning of the academic framework.

As the Director of Academic Affairs at Sonargaon University, I made significant contributions by forming and leading the curriculum committee, conducting meetings, and securing curriculum approval from the University Grants Commission of Bangladesh. I prepared academic brochures and prospectuses, designed course outlines, and set academic standards and procedures. My responsibilities also included the recruitment and training of lecturers and admission officers, establishing admissions criteria, maintaining relationships with national and international stakeholders, and promoting the university through strategic advertising and event planning. I maintained close coordination among various university departments and faculties and contributed to branding efforts by designing essential university materials such as office files, envelopes, and pads.

My leadership skills were also demonstrated when I served as the Head of the Department of Law. In this capacity, I conducted departmental faculty meetings, set teaching policies and advisory guidelines, attended academic council meetings, and monitored the adherence to class schedules. I actively engaged with students to understand their challenges and implemented solutions to address their needs. This role also involved managing academic registrations, supporting staff in registration booklet preparations, and overseeing examination schedules.

In various roles, such as director, coordinator, and member of core coordination committees, I have worked extensively in management, human resources, procurement and logistics, and financial operations. These responsibilities honed my ability to lead at both strategic and operational levels, ensuring the smooth running of academic programs and the achievement of institutional objectives. Through these multifaceted experiences, I have cultivated a comprehensive understanding of academic administration and the importance of fostering collaboration across various departments. My career reflects a commitment to academic excellence and effective management, enriching both my professional journey and the institutions I have served.
